What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a form of therapy in which tiny, thin needles are inserted into specific points along energetic meridians on the body. It’s use dates back thousands of years to the neolithic period using bones and stones for needles, which have been replaced in the modern era with sterile, disposable needles made of stainless steel, copper or gold. “Classical” acupuncture was developed in China, but now is used increasingly in modern medicine worldwide and is backed by science.
Acupuncture stimulates both '“qi” and blood (nervous and subvascular systems), catalyzing the body to produce its own pain relieving chemicals or '“endorphins”. This helps to relax the body and restore balance to the body’s own internal regulation systems thus activating it’s natural healing abilities along with producing a state of physical and emotional well-being and revitalization.
